Six Flags New England

August 6, 2008

Went to Six Flags New England this weekend for the first time.

If you get there early enough to beat the crowds, I recommend going over to Hurricane Harbor’s Swiss Family Toboggan: my family loved it but had to wait in line for an hour.

Don’t make my mistake and think you can carry your wallet in a waterproof bag:  you can’t do much of anything in Hurricane Harbor with anything in your hands or on your head: rent a locker at its entrance ($12 minimum) for your wallet, etc.  Wear sunscreen and waterproof sandals.

The greediness bothered me after a while.  A slice of pizza was $7.49 or $8.49.  No water fountains.

My young boys did love rides (while my favorite “ride” was a cheesy arcade game).

All-in-all, a once-a-summer-is-plenty label is earned from this thrill-ride averse fogey.

Dental

I had teeth rotting out of my head until a good scaling and root planing then diligent use of the following. Since then, not a new cavity. (8 yrs) 5/31/08

  • FlossMate (John O. Butler Inc) – “Embrace and extend” floss with this large, rigid plastic “Y”.   Makes scraping even molars easy.   (Unwind string and rewind to a new section when dirty.)
  • OraTec TheraSol (every other day) and Viajet (daily) – Kills bugs dead.   Viajet first with plain water then, quickly, with TheraSol.   No toothpaste before the Therasol spritz, or food or drink for 2hrs afterward.

Food

(mostly for personal use):

  • “Numi ~ Golden Chai ~ Organic Spiced Assam” 5/31/08
